Inverses was born on a coffee table in Chennai. In verses was it born when Shylaja Balasubramanian and Ritwik Banerjee sat down together and started exchanging views on the notion of dialogues, the idea of opposites clashing to form a constructive opinion; much like the clash of two palms that produces the glorious applause.

And what form could this montage take? We did not want it to be something that looks like an excerpt from a novel. We hated the idea of creating a dry philosophical discourse. We wanted to create a dynamic, shimmering and enchanting conversation the beauty of which we could share with everyone.

From this conversation about conversations, and from this insistence on beauty, we gave birth to our blog in verses: conversations and representations through poetry and poetic prose.
